Extension Corner - Steve Tonn

Hello to Washington County! I am Steve Tonn, the new Extension Educator, for Washington County. I will be following Jim Peterson and working with agriculture and agro-tourism education programming in the county. I want to continue the tradition that Jim and the other Extension staff have set for providing research based information to the citizens of Washington County and the surrounding area.

I was an Extension Educator in Kansas for 27 years working in two rural counties both with a strong agricultural base. I am a former 4-Her and value the importance of 4-H teaching life skills to youth. I have been with Nebraska Extension for 7 years working in the Omaha metro lakes watersheds on runoff pollution prevention education for youth and adults. I am looking forward to being involved with agriculture and 4-H again.

We are in the process of selling our home in Omaha and moving to Washington County. I look forward to meeting the residents of the county and working with them. I have a great Extension staff to work with and I invite everyone to take advantage of our resources.
