We’re on the move!!!

This is actually the fourth move for UNL Extension since we first opened our doors in Washington County. As with many other extension offices, we were originally located in the County Courthouse but, having outgrown those accommodations, a move was made to downtown Blair in 1972. After approximately 13 years at that location, a second move was made to the store front on Washington Street that we occupy today. During the past 22 years, our staff has grown to include two full-time 4-H assistants and two full-time extension educators so it seems as though our current facility is bursting at the seams!

We especially look forward to our new location because we hope the enhanced facility will help us serve you in even bigger and better ways! A more spacious meeting room, improved technology and ample parking…all promise to make your next visit to the extension office a more pleasurable experience. And, having a facility which allows us to bring you a wider variety of programs is something we’re really excited about. Whether its being a hub for community meetings, a gathering place for 4-H clubs or a training site for area professionals, we continually strive to bring you the most up-to-date, research-based information the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has available.

Unfortunately, the move will require us to briefly disrupt our services. Although our voice mail will remain operational during the move, we will have our phones out of service for a short period of time. And, we will also experience a brief interruption in our e-mail capabilities. We understand it’s a busy time of year for ag producers and homeowners with yard and garden questions. It’s a busy time for 4-H families enrolling in this year’s activities. And, it’s the time of year that we get lots of food safety questions associated with outdoor barbecues and graduation parties. We promise you…we’ll get our systems back up and running as quickly as possible! In the meantime, we ask you to bear with us as we make this transition.

Please plan to come and see us soon at our new location! We’re easy to find! Just take Grant Street east from Highway 75. We’re the blue building just east of the bowling alley! We’ll be looking for you!
